SONGWRITERS SHOWCASE is taking a break until this spring. JP is taking time off to start production on his next album.
New Release! Verging on the 20th anniversary of it's recording, "Mom's Kitchen" has been a favorite of fans and friends. Until now it was only available on cassette (what are cassettes?). It's a rootsy recording that was done in JP's kitchen with Mark Foley,electric guitar / Randy Hill,mandolin,guitar / Laurel Arbuckle, upright bass / Johnny Givens on fiddle and Jamie Sulek on drums.
Pre Production Started on new CD - JP has been spending some time in the studio tracking demo's for the next CD. This will be a solo effort although you can expect to see all your favorite Bar Flies. So far, he has about 12 to 14 songs picked out. Production will start as soon as his busy schedule will allow.
J.P. and Brian Griffith continue to knock them out on at the Cat & Fiddle in Hamilton. This scaled down version of the Bar Flies cooks from 10 to 1:30 AM on select Thursday Nights. See listings.
Artword Theatre @ The Pearl is has produced a play, "Tobacco Troubadour" www.youtube.com/watch , based on the songs and life of our very own J.P. Riemens . Launched on April 15th , the play received rave reviews and is being looked at by many other theatres in the tobacco belt.
